Jeep has released a new commercial, featuring the World Surf League, after announcing, at the beginning of September, a long-term renewal and expansion of their global partnership.
“They say one person’s crazy is another person’s passion. Count us crazy… passionate.” – this is the message conveyed in the 60-second spot, featuring images of Jeep vehicles driving on the beach and surfers riding the waves.
The song used in the ad is “Let’s Go Surfing”, the debut single by American band The Drums, from their self-titled debut album, released in 2010.
Jeep continues thus as the official and exclusive global automotive partner of the WSL Championship Tour and the naming rights partner to the WSL Jeep Leaders Tour Rankings for the men’s and women’s Championship Tour. The brand will continue its sponsorship of surfing’s most sought-after properties, the Jeep Leaderboard and the iconic yellow Jeep Leader Jersey, and will award a Jeep vehicle at the end of the season to the men’s and women’s WSL Champions, each year, until 2020, including (which is the year that surfing will make its debut on the world stage at the Olympic Games in Tokyo).
Jeep unveiled at the Hurley Pro and Swatch Pro at Trestles (held between September 6 and September 17) a new Jeep Leader Jersey, as well as new branding across both digital and broadcast Jeep Leader graphics, and a special locker room design for Jeep front runners.
