Diesel celebrates imperfections in its 2017 fall/winter campaign titled “Go With The Flaw”, created by agency Publicis Italia.
The 2 minute and 10 second film, directed by French director Francis Rousselet (who also directed music videos for Madonna, Snoop Dogg, Depeche Mode, and The Rolling Stones) and set to the rhythms of Edith Piaf’s iconic song “Non, je ne regrette rien”, stars a range of models, including Ukrainian model Danil Nikiforow, with interesting and distinctive features, that set them apart, such as a unibrow, teeth braces, cross-eyes, scars, tattoos, and more.
Shot mostly in Kyiv (capital of Ukraine), the spot features a young man dancing on the unfinished Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge, a young woman playing billiards in a pub, another one on a bus, a man and a woman being put in jail.
The Italian jeans brand’s latest campaign aims to highlight/remind people that flaws helps us stand out from the crowd, and encourage them to embrace their physical and character flaws and daily mishaps. Throghout the mini-movie, the voiceover delivers the following message:
“Go with no plan. Go with not sure
Go with what makes you feel insecure
Go with the snooze
Go with your hair
Go with that face that needs no repair
Go with mistakes
Go with remakes
Go without knowing if you have what it takes
Go with the tease
Go with the game
Go if no one remembers your name
Go with the “oops”
Go with no doubts
Go if it doesn’t look as good as it sounds
Go with the hunch
Go with oh fuck.
Go like you’ll never run out of luck
Go with the swipe
Go with the fling
Go without wanting to put on a ring
But go out in the open
And go with pride
Grab a front seat and enjoy the ride”.
