The trailer for the Ridley Scott’s upcoming crime drama film All the Money in the World has been released.

Based upon the historical events surrounding the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, in 1973, the film revolves around the efforts made to find John Paul Getty III, the grandson of J. Paul Getty (a billionaire oil magnate considered the richest man in the world), who was abducted by a group of kidnappers, from the organized crime group ‘Ndrangheta, in Rome, and the sustained refusal of J. Paul Getty to pay the ransom.

The cast includes Kevin Spacey as J. Paul Getty, Charlie Plummer as John Paul Getty III, Michelle Williams as Gail Harris, John Paul’s mother, Mark Wahlberg as Fletcher Chase, Getty’s security man who sets out to find the young boy, Romain Duris, Timothy Hutton, and others.

Launched with the tagline “J. Paul Getty had a fortune. Everyone else paid the price.” and set to the rhythms of the 1968 song “Time of the Season” by the British rock band The Zombies, the trailer, narrated at the beginning by Charlie Plummer’s character, reveals the scene of his abduction, in Rome, focusing afterwards on his mother’s desperate attempt to find him. J. Paul Getty, the oil magnate, who refuses to pay any money to the kidnappers, who asked for 70 million dollars, is shown at the end of the trailer as being portrayed by Academi Award-winner Kevin Spacey.

The film is scheduled to be released this winter, on December 8.
