“Our life is born from chaos. Sometimes, the help is luck and sometimes, when you are lost, you’re found.” – this is the message conveyed at the beginning of the official trailer for Netlix’s upcoming original series Stark Trek: Discovery.
The trailer suggests that a war with the Klingons will factor prominently into the narrative of the show’s first season. Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays lead character First Officer Michael Burnham, is featured along with Michelle Yeoh, who plays supporting Starfleet character U.S.S. Shenzhou Captain Philippa Georgiou, Doug Jones, who plays Science Officer Saru, and Jason Isaacs, who plays U.S.S. Discovery Captain Gabriel Lorca.
Vulcan Sarek (Spock’s father) is portrayed by Mark Lenard and cosmic smuggler and infamous swindler Harry Mudd is portrayed, in the series, by Rainn Wilson.
The song used in the trailer is a cover of “I’d Love To Change The World” (by the British blues rock band Ten Years After, their most famous and popular song, the lead single from their 1971 album “A Space in Time”), performed by English indie pop and rock singer Jetta.
The series is set to be released on CBS All Access (the network’s stand-alone streaming service) on September 24, and on Netflix on September 25.
