Kia has launched a new ad campaign to showcase the Turbo version of its Kia Soul.
The spot, created by David&Goliath and set to the rhythms of Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades”, features a cute new baby hamster named Turbo who escapes from the maternity. With the staff on his traces, the hamster runs around the hospital, causing all kinds of mischief. Arrived up on the building roof, he takes a towel and plunges into the air toward the street, where his family comes in a Kia Soul Turbo to take him home.
David&Goliath founder, David Angelo, described the pint-sized rodent as “not only the embodiment of the new Turbo Soul but also the maverick challenger spirit of the Kia brand”.
The campaign, including 90-, 60-, 30- and 15-second versions of the ad, will run throughout the summer, both online, supported by social media, and in theaters, on 25.000 screens nationwide in National CineMedia and Screenvision movie networks.
The turbo edition of Kia’s quirky Soul, featuring a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder and 201 horsepower, has a starting MSRP (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) of $16.100. Until July 10, those willing to buy a 2017 Soul during the Kia’s Sale Event, can take advantage of the brand’s retail rebate offers, that can help them save up to $1.500 (includes $1.000 Cash Back, and $500 4th of July Savings) or benefit from 0% APR for up to 66 months and no payments for 5 months (90-day deferred payments plus first 2 months due on Kia, up to $1.000 total).
