IKEA UK Advert Song: Lion on the Couch

IKEA UK Lion TV Advert

IKEA UK Lion on the Couch Advert Song IKEA UK continues its Wonderful Everyday campaign with a new advert teaching viewers how to relax like a lion, a wild and wonderful creature who happens to spend most of its day at rest.

The 60-second spot, titled “Lion Man”, features a lion relaxing on a seemingly very comfortable couch, in a living room, watching TV, reading a book and drinking a smoothie, doing his workout routine on the terrace, and lying in an armchair. “The living room is where we prepare for life, but sometimes the best preparation is to quite simply do nothing at all. Because in order to achieve great things, we need to fully recharge our minds and bodies. It’s then, and only then, that we’re ready spring to life.” – this is the idea behind the installment, directed by Chris Barrat and Luke Taylor, with a soundtrack titled “By The Sleepy Lagoon” by Eric Coates with an additional production by Paul Sumpter.

“Did you know that lion spends more thant 18 hours a day relaxing? But if you think they are lazy, look again. Because they’re just waiting for the right moment. And when their minds and bodies are fully recharged, then it’s time for action.” – says the voiceover, while on screen the lion’s relaxing routine is shown until a bunch of kids bob into the living room, bringing balloons and shouting joyfully as they go to the lion man to play with him. The advert ends with the voiceover urging you to “relax into greatness” and saying the company’s tagline, “The Wonderful Everyday”.
