The French luxury watch and jewelry maker Cartier celebrates the return of its iconic Panthère watch, originally released in 1983 and out of production since 2004, in a new online campaign, directed by Oscar winner Sofia Coppola.
The 60-second spot, set to the rhythms of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” (from her 1977 album, “I Remember Yesterday”), features Australian film actress and model Courtney Eaton (known for her role as Zaya in the 2016 film Gods of Egypt) sporting the timepiece on various occasions, during a trip to LA, where she is soaking up the sun, is enjoying romance and has fun with her girl friends. Donna Summer’s daughters Brooklyn and Amanda Sudano appear in the ad, as well, dancing next to Courtney Eaton, in the scene filmed in a night club.
The Panthére watch will be launched this month, following new demands from clients, according to Business of Fashion. The prices range from £3.200 for the small model in steel to £113.000 for the medium model, quartz movement, featuring white gold case set with 168 brilliant-cut diamonds, white gold dial set with 118 brilliant-cut diamonds, white gold bracelet set with 374 brilliant-cut diamonds, and crown decorated with a sapphire, blued-steel sword-shaped hands.
