Woman in Galaxy S8 Commercial

Samsung continues its ad campaign promoting the new Galaxy S8 with a new commercial starring travel blogger Moriah Yadon, who is inspired to take a spontaneous trip to a faraway place, using her Galaxy S8 as her adventure guide.

The 60-second spot, showcasing some of the Galaxy S8 features, such as the all-new virtual assistant Bixby, that understands voice, text, or touch commands and is able to handle the tasks you normally do on your phone, the Optical Image Stabilization, the Portrait Mode, stickers, location tags available for both camera and video, the slow motion video support, and others, begins with the voiceover giving advice on what to do if you want to be a world traveler, advice that proves useless due to the features of the new Galaxy S8, that change the way she travels.

“If you want to be a world traveler, start by…”, says the voiceover/travel guide interrupting himself when he sees the Galaxy S8 in Moriah’s hand. “Uuu, is that a Galaxy S8? Handsome screen”, he says, resuming his “speech”: “Anyway, you want to pack down your passport and…”. “Okay, you’re moving fast”, says when Moriah, who’s got her boarding pass for Lima, Peru, with help from Bixby, and is already on her seat, in the plane. “To get around the city, take the city bus. That’s not a bus. You’ll need a tour guide. Apparently not. Don’t forget a big camera. Or that phone will work. Travelling by yourself can be lonely and… you’ve already made friends. Shopping can be difficult if you don’t know the language. Aw, never mind, your camera speaks Spanish. Hold up, is that a king? Where are you? Oh, your camera knows that, too.” – says the voiceover, who concludes “Ok, I guess you have the world travelling covered.” before the tagline “Infinitely amazing” appears on screen.

The song playing in the ad is “Soy Yo” by Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, from their 2016 album “Amanecer Remixed”.
