Malibu Rum has launched its #BecauseSummer ad campaign with a short film from Kygo’s surprise boat party, thrown to celebrate the start of summer.
The 60-second spot stars the Norwegian musician, DJ, songwriter and record producer, who partnered with the
Pernod Ricard brand last year and showcased the flavoured rum bottle in the music video his single “Carry Me”, having fun on the boat, among his guests, with plenty Malibu Rum cocktails and music mixed by him.
The song playing in the background is Kygo’s hit single “Stay” feat. May Noyes, from his 2015 album “Cloud Nine”.
Colin Kavanagh, Malibu global vp for marketing, stated, last year, that Kygo is extremely popular with the brand’s “global audience of young fun starters” and that he “embodies everything” that their “Because Summer campaign is about”.
