Land Rover presents the all-new Land Rover Discovery in a 30-second spot, featuring the “father” of Land Rover BAR (initially named Ben Ainslie Racing) and some of his team members on a “stormy” adventure.
The ad, dubbed “Serenity in the Storm” and intended to highlight that the new SUV provides “a serene environment no matter what your journey brings your way”, features a 2017 Discovery HSE Luxury speeding through a sandstorm, with the driver, Sir Ben Ainslie, very calm and serene, despite being shrouded by sand. The view from the inside showcases the sunroof and the seven full-size seats with new levels of comfort and ingenious use of space, thanks to the Seat Fold technology, where some of the sailors of the Land Rover BAR Team, including David “Freddie” Carr, Nick Hutton, Mark Cornwell, and Jonathan “Jono” Macbeth, find serenity, as well, after being picked up from the sand storm. At the end of the spot, they are shown also in their “natural environment”, on a boat.
The new Discovery, described as the brand’s “most versatile SUV yet”, takes towing capability to a new level, making towing effortless and assured, and delivers, thanks to its optimised geometry coupled with unique Land Rover
technologies, class-leading all-terrain capabilities.
The Intelligent Seat Fold technology allows you to configure the second and optional third row seating using switches located in the cargo area, on the main touchscreen or even remotely via your smartphone, while the latest Land Rover vehicle and infotainment technologies incorporated deliver high levels of capability, connectivity and information.
Land Rover BAR Team, launched in June 2014 and conceived by four times Olympic gold medalist and 34th America’s Cup winner, Sir Ben Ainslie, with the goal to challenge for Britain and bring the America’s Cup back home, is made up of some of the best British and international sailors, designers, builders and racing support.
