John Lewis is celebrating a great British summer in a new animated advert, highlighting that they have everything you need to enjoy a very British summer.

“We love how festivals aren’t the same without wellies and how the weather man is never right. We love how tea solves any problem and how dunking biscuits is just so right. We love how fish & chips tastes better with a wooden fork. And how we never let a rain dampen a bbq. We love how suddenly everyone’s a tennis fan. We love how we say sorry for things that aren’t our fault. And how we often forget what we’re queueing for.” – is the message conveyed in the 55-second spot, released to inform viewers also about the fact that the chain of upmarket department stores has put together a programme of special events and experiences with best-loved home-grown brands.

“While we may be a nation of shoppers, pet-lovers and tea-drinkers all year round, there’s something about the summer that makes everything a bit more special. It’s the time when ice creams by the seaside, long afternoons in packed-out parks and grabbing an umbrella (just in case) become our national pastimes.
