AT&T’s ad campaign, promoting its new HBO-inclusive DirecTV, wireless, and internet package, continues with a new ad starring Mark Wahlberg and a surprise guest star: legendary actress Anjelica Huston.
The 30-second spot, directed by Peter Berg (who produced the 2013 film “Lone Survivor”, starring Wahlberg), features Wahlberg in a kitchen, talking about the surprises no one likes: surprise fees. “Food, water, Internet – we need it to live. But what we don’t need are surprises, like extra monthly fees.” – says Wahlberg, who’s walking in the living room, adding “I see you, fee played by legendary actress Anjelica Huston”.
Anjelica, showing up from behind a curtain with a big dollar sign attached to her body, answers “You got me, Mark.” and leaves the house, escorted by him, who continues his speech: “We just want fast Internet. One simple rate. For all the streaming and the shopping and news, but most of all, for this.” (referring to a prairie dog, not an otter, as it has been reported).
The commercial ends with the voiceover saying “Internet for one everyday simple price and no extra monthly fees”.
The new AT&T’s ad campaign, starring Mark Wahlberg, includes ten ads with him in the spotlight and guest stars such as Tracy Morgan, Rob Corddry, and James Marsden, will roll out over the next two to three months.
