XFINITY promotes the Voice Remote (XR11), the remote control that allows XFINITY X1 customers to change channels, search for shows, get recommendations and more by using voice commands, in a new commercial, released with the tagline “Like father like son is awesome”.
The 30-second spot features a man calling his wife, who’s enjoying a bath in the bathtub, to see something.
Initially, she doesn’t want to get out, but she eventually does it because her husband made it sound very important. When she arrives in the living room, her partner asks their toddler, holding the remote control in front of him, to do “that thing” they talked about. “What were you saying?”, he helps the kid, who is a little bit lost in instructions. “Go Irish!”, he says looking at his mom, and the TV channel is changed automatically. The man’s enthusiasm is not shared, though, by the woman, who, after thinking a little bit and not finding anything enthusiastic to say about this, informs him that she’s just going to go back and do what she was doing.
The commercial, showing the onscreen line “Like father like son is awesome”, ends with the voiceover inviting you to find your awesome with the XFINITY X1.
