After Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S8 with 2-for-1 limited-time offer (from April 21 to April 26), enabling new and existing customers to lease two Samsung GS8 devices for the price of one with a new line activation, for $31.25/month for both devices, Verizon has launched a similar offer, releasing a dedicated commercial.
The 30-second spot features the Canadian actor Thomas Middleditch (known for playing the introverted computer programmer Richard in the comedy series Silicon Valley) at Verizon’s headquarters, asking Ammara, a Verizon engineer, to give one “really good” reason why the Samsung Galaxy S8 is better on Verizon.
“Well, we have the largest 4G LTE network in America”, answers Ammara, making Thomas say in response that “that’s a pretty good reason”. She doesn’t stop at this one reason, though, specifying that Verizon’s network is also “the most reliable” and that “with Unlimited you get full HD video”. In the meantime, Thomas keeps hiding in his pockets all the Samsung Galaxy S8 devices he sees on the desks around.
“If you really really want the best, switch to Verizon Unlimited and get the Galaxy S8 for just $15 a month.” – says the voiceover at the end of the commercial, which features also Ammara saying to Thomas that she saw him take those phones.
The company highlights that you can get a $50 Visa Prepaid Card when you switch or upgrade to Verizon Unlimited and trade in select phones.
