There are only a few days left until the premiere of the music-themed CNN miniseries Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History and Dwayne Johnson reminds us, in the promo running on cable news channel, featuring the 1982 iconic song “Under Pressure” by Queen, that he’s going to rock CNN this spring.

The eight-part, hourlong original series from Dwayne Johnson and his partner Dany Garcia, set to premiere on April 20, at 10pm, will explore how music captured crucial moments in history, such as the riots at Stonewall, from women’s rights and civil rights to tragedies such as September 11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Legendary musicians, historians, journalists and other notable figures including Andra Day, Ben Harper, Billy Joel, Master P, Pat Benatar, George Clinton and others, will feature in interviews that form the series alongside rare archival footage.

The first episode, approaching the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., looks at the music that kept the spirit of the civil rights movement alive after his death, highlighting songs such as “Say It Loud (I’m Black and I’m Proud)” by James Brown and “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar.
