Chanel has released a film directed by Olivier Assayas for the new Gabrielle handbag campaign, starring Caroline de Maigret.
Set to the rhythms of Lee Hazlewood’s “The Girls In Paris”, the clip features the French model, who is also music producer, getting ready to go out wearing the new handbag and posing for the camera before heading down the stairs and leaving the building.
The campaign includes also films starring Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevingne, and also Pharrell Williams, who is the first man in a Chanel ad carrying a bag. The film with Kristen in the spotlight, directed by Daniel Askill, with the single “The Strangers” by American musician St. Vincent, from her 2009 album “Actor”, as soundtrack, features the 26-year-old actress making a grand entrance in an empty building that seemingly served as a photography backdrop and dancing around, stopping only after seeing the writing “Gabrielle” on a dusty window.
The film starring Pharrell is set to be released on Monday, April 24. So far a very short trailer has been dropped, featuring the artist wearing a Gabrielle bag over his shoulder and getting on a stage.
