The 30-second spot features the American retired professional basketball player on the court, included in top 5 free throw shooters of all time, talking about New York Life, after a news presenter announces that markets fall to weekly low. “The markets can be very unpredictable. New York Life, on the other hand, is as consistent as my free throw shooting. They’ve paid a dividend to participating policy owners every year, since 1854. Sure, a life insurance policy isn’t the sexiest way to plan for the future. Just like my free throw shooting isn’t the sexiest way to shoot a free throw. But it works”, says Barry, adding that “success never goes out of style”.
The spot ends with Barry saying the insurance company’s tagline, “Be Good At Life”.
