Mastercard has released a new commercial, inviting you to honor Arnold Palmer – the American professional golfer who is generally regarded as one of the greatest players in the sport’s history – by promising to do something.
The 60-second spot, launched with the hashtag #ArnieWould to celebrate the sportsman that inspired us in many ways, features all kind of situations in which golf players of all ages choose to do something motivated by the fact that “Arnie would”. Thus, we can see a man holding a umbrella for a fellow golf player who’s cleaning his club because that’s a thing “Arnie would do”, a young girl who’s encouraged by her instructor and decides to keep her chin up because “Arnie would”, two golf players who are ready to give autographs on dozens of kids hats because “Arnie definitely would”.
The ad also features a man who, returning late from work, goes directly to his little daughter’s room to read her a bedtime story, and ends with the onscreen line “priceless”, while an image of Arnold Palmer holding his little daughter in his arms appears.
“Mastercard honors his heart, his courage, and everything Arnie would do”, says the voiceover at the end of the spot.
