Kijiji, the most popular online classified service in Canada, has launched a new ad campaign, titled “Shake On It”, to promote its service.
The 30-second spot, created by agency Cloudracker and set to the rhythms of Jerry Lee Lewis’s “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On”, shows several people trying out and buying all kind of products via Kijiji, and sealing each sale with a handshake. Among the featured goods there are cars, a mountain bike, a camera, and products that illustrate the idea of shaking, such as a vibrating massage belt, a massage chair, that makes an old gentleman be in seventh heaven, washing machines that shake the twin girls sitting on them, a shaker, and a salt shaker.
The ad, available also in shorter edited versions, set to appear online across several digital channels, ends with the tagline “Shake on your next deal”.
The online classified advertising service, launched in March 2005, is a fully owned subsidiary of eBay, that operates as a centralized network of online communities, organized by city and urban region, for posting local ads. Kijiji websites are available for more than 300 cities in Canada, Italy, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
