HBO has released a commercial, inviting you to “write your own story” and to try HBO NOW free for one month on your favorite screen (phone, tablet, computer, TV).
The 60-second spot, launched with the message that “behind every great woman is another woman”, features women from the channel’s series, such as Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Veep, Thandie Newton from Westworld, Emilia Clarke from Games of Thrones, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley from Big Little Lies, Lena Dunham and Zosia Mamet from Girls, Issa Rae from Insecure, Sarah Jessica Parker from Divorce, and the following message, conveyed through editing from the lines these protagonists say: “This is the new world. And in this world, you can be whoever the fuck you want. Good, shall we begin? Hey, tiger. I don’t give a shit about anything, yet I simultaneously have opinions about everything. Do you find me challenging? We get to re-write our history every single goddamn day. We’re going to… rise up! And kick some ass! Time to write my own story”.
The song used in the ad is “The Little Things” by Big Gigantic feat. Angela McCluskey, from their 2016 album “Brighter Future”.
