Compare the Meerkat – Titanic Scene
CompareTheMeerkat has released a new advert, starring Aleksandr and Sergei, to highlight that movies are better with two.
The spot, titled “Heimlich”, features the two meerkats having dinner on a boat, when suddenly Aleksandr chokes on a piece of lobster and rushes from the table dragging away the tablecloth. Sergei, with the rose from the vase in his hand, jumps up to help his sidekick and eventually, when he understand what happens, performs the Heimlich maneuver on him. As Aleksandr keeps his arms stretched horizontally and Sergei does the abdominal thrusts on him, the two give the impression of illustrating the famous “I’m Flying” scene from Titanic, especially given the fact that the film’s soundtrack begins to play.
“Movies are better with two. Which is why only Compare the Meerkat customers get 2 for 1 cinema tickets with Meerkat Movies”, says the voiceover at the end of the advert. “You can let go now, Sergei”, tells him Aleksandr, eventually, to get himself set free of Sergei’s embrace.
