“This fall, we are all a part of those who came before” – this is the message conveyed in the teaser trailer released for the upcoming animation film Coco, due out in November.
The fantasy-comedy adventure film, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney, follows a
12-year-old boy named Miguel who dreams of becoming a highly appreciated musician, like his idol, Ernesto de la
Cruz, and who, in his desperate attempt to prove his talent, finds himself in the Land of the Dead. From there, he embarks, together with a charming trickster, on a journey to find out the real story behind his family history.
The promo features Miguel listening to Ernesto de la Cruz playing the guitar and delivering an empowering message: “Never underestimate the power of music. No one was going to hand me my future. It was up to me to reach for my dream, grab it tight, and make it come true”.
With a script by Adrian Molina and directed by Lee Unkrich, Coco stars the voices of Anthony Gonzalez, Gael García Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Renée Victor, Ana Ofelia Murguia, and others.
The release in theaters is slated for this fall, on November 22.
