Motorola has released a new commercial, inviting you to move to Moto and say hello to Moto Z + Moto Mods.
The 30-second spot features several couples in front of a therapist, complaining about their problems.
“I’m done”, “I want out”, “Year after year I hear it’s going to be different and nothing changes”, are some of the laments. The ad continues with adjectives which are seemingly describing the partner, such as “disconnected”, “unresponsive to touch”, and “always running out of juice”.
“I feel cheated. What am I supposed to do?, asks a woman in tears.
At this point, the therapist, who is obviously a little bit confused, asks her: “Are you talking about your phone?”
Her partner nodds and she confirms with a “Ya”, sounding as if it was obvious she was talking about her phone.
The spot ends with the onscreen line “it’s time to move on” and with the voiceover inviting you to “move on to Moto Z and say Hello Moto”.
Back in the therapy room, the specialist asks the woman if she wants to talk about her father’s phone, but she receives a clear and prompt “no” in response.
