Buick has released its Super Bowl commercial, starring Cam Newton and Miranda Kerr and featuring the Sport Red 2017 Cascada Sport Touring Convertible and the 2017 Encore compact luxury SUV.
The 60-second spot, titled “Not So Pee Wee Football”, features two men watching their little sons playing football during a match with another team. When the kid of one of them falls down, his father tries to cheer him up by asking him to get right back up because he’s alright. Shorty after this, their attention focuses on a red luxury convertible parked nearby by a young woman. “Woah! Check out that Buick!”, says the friend of the man who asked his son to get up and keep playing. “Wow, that’s nice. But if that’s a Buick, then my kid’s Cam Newton”, answers the latter. Looking back at his son, he sees that the kid turned into Cam Newton, who has no trouble in dealing with his “opponents” and scoring.
“Some people just can’t believe the new Buick”, says the voiceover, as the spot comes to its end. But the spot is not actually over yet.
A Buick Encore parks near the Buick Cascada, making Newton say to the winning team’s coach “That’s a good looking Buick, right there”. The latter, not believing his eyes, answers “If that’s a Buick, then I’m a supermodel”. And guess what? He turns into Miranda Kerr, who congratulates the kid, giving him a round of applause “Nice play, Billy!”. The ref, running on the field, cannot believe his eyes there’s actually Miranda Kerr and stumbles against the table with plastic glasses.
