Wendy’s Commercial 2017 – Talking Bees

Wendy’s has released a new commercial, featuring two real impossibilities: bees that shouldn’t be able to fly which can fly and the quarter-pound Double Stack, which shouldn’t be in the Wendy’s 4 for $4, and yet it is.

The 30-second spot starts by presenting the first impossibility: “Because their wings are too small for their bodies, bumblebees should not be able to fly. Yet they can”. The next scene features two bees on a flower, talking about this fact.
“Wait. We shouldn’t fly?”, asks one of them to the other.
“Yeah…Kinda like having a quarter-pound Double Stack should not be in the 4 for $4”, says the other one.
The two then start playing with words in regards to Wendy’s offer. “Un-bee-lievable”, “You can’t bee-t that deal”, “I’m in dis-bee-lief” are the bees lines until one of them stops the game.
“I know I started this joke, but can we please stop?”, asks the bee which loses her inspiration and patience.
“Yes”, answers her fellow.

The ad ends with the voiceover saying that the Double Stack is now an option in the 4 for $4 for a limited time and adding that “it’s impossibly good”. This offer includes 4-piece nuggets, small fries and a drink, and is not valid in Alaska and Hawaii.
