John Lewis Christmas 2016 Advert – Buster The Boxer
After last year’s Man on the Moon Christmas advert, this year John Lewis brought in animals in their holiday ad.
The star is Buster, a family’s boxer who runs to the trampoline bought as a Christmas gift for his owners’ little girl, ahead of her, and starts jumping on it, leaving everyone speechless. But this is not all. Buster discovered his passion for jumping after seeing, from the window, the night before, how several animals, such as two foxes, a squirrel, a badger, a hedgehog, came in the family’s courtyard and bounced on the trampoline all night long, while he watched them in silence, as he didn’t want to ruin their fun.
The spot ends with the onscreen line “Gifts that everyone will love”.
The song used in the ad is a cover of Randy Crawford’s “One Day I’ll Fly Away”, performed by the electronic trio The Vaults.
