The first official trailer for the upcoming British-American drama Loving, inspired from a real case, has been released.
The upcoming Jeff Nichols’s film, selected to compete for the Palme d’Or at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, tells the story of Mildred Jeter, a black woman, and Richard Loving, a white man, whose marriage in 1958’s Virginia got them a sentence to prison. The couple sued the state of Virginia and, after a series of proceedings, the US Supreme Court invalidated state laws prohibiting interracial marriage.
The movie, starring Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga in the title roles, Michael Shannon, Nick Kroll, Marton Csokas, Bill Camp and others, will be released in US theaters this fall, on November 4.
The soundtrack music is by David Wingo. The song used in the trailer is “Ride To Death” by Carter Burwell.
