The price comparison website Compare the Market, part of BGL Group, has released a new TV advert as part of the Compare the Meerkat campaign, to promote the 2 for 1 cinema tickets offer available through its website.
The 40-second spot features Aleksandr and Sergei on a family road trip with their trailer, who, lacking a family, invited the child acting star Macaulay Culkin to “complete the family dynamic”.
When seeing the 35-year-old American actor on the side of the road, the two meerkats realize that “he’s a lot bigger in real life” , but this doesn’t stop them to act as if he were still a child. Thus, they go to an amusement park, where they ask Macaulay to bounce with other kids, wipe the ice cream off Macaulay’s face with a tissue, paint his face and take photos of him, exclaiming that “he’s so cute”, and, finally, they go to the movie.
The voiceover says at the end, with a Russian accent: “Take your little one, or anyone, to the cinema with 2 for 1
tickets with Meerkat Movies. Only when you buy through comparethemarket.com”.
This offer allows you to take another person to the cinema, on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, but certain conditions apply.
