Lights Out, described as “the most inventive horror of this year” and expected to be released in theaters on July 22, is centered around a
family drama.
Sophie, mother-of-two, a 9-year-old boy, named Martin, and a young girl, named Rebecca, had a friend in her childhood, Diana, who died in awful conditions and returned as a strange creature, able to appear only when the lights are off. All the three of them see Diana in the dark.
Written by Eric Heisserer and directed by David F. Sandberg, the film seems to be, judging from the trailer, really scary.
The track used in the trailer is “For What It’s Worth”, performed by Malia J and produced by Think Up Anger.
Lyrics
There’s something happening here
But what it is ain’t exactly clear
There’s a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it’s time we stop
Children, what’s that sound?
Everybody look – what’s going down
There’s battle lines being drawn
Nobody’s right if everybody’s wrong
Young people speaking’ their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
It’s time we stop
Hey, what’s that sound
Everybody look – what’s going down
What a field day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly saying hooray for our side
Chorus
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you’re always afraid
Step out of line, the men come and take you away
