HBO will broadcast the Irish-British-Canadian drama Brooklyn on August 13, and released a preview for its viewers.
Set in 1950’s, the movie follows Eilis Lacey, an Irish immigrant who moves to America and goes to Brooklyn, after leaving the small shop she hates working at. Her life in the city changes when she meets Tony, with whom she has an amazing relationship. A tragedy forces her to return to her hometown, in Ireland, and to choose, eventually, between two homes and two men.
The film, starring Saoirse Ronan, Emory Cohen, Domhnall Gleeson, Jim Broadbent, and Julie Walters, was nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
