Closet Monster (2016 movie)
Closet Monster is an unconventional Canadian drama film, following the story of Oscar, a teenager who falls for a co-worker and hides his homosexuality. Willing to become a special-effects make-up artist, he is also desperate to escape his hometown and the memories of his childhood.
Written and directed by Stephen Dunn, Closet Monster, starring Connor Jessup, Aaron Abrams, Isabella Rossellini, Aliocha Schneider and others, has premiered in 2015, at the Toronto Film International Film Festival, and it has been higly acclaimed by the critics.
This month, at FilmOut San Diego Film Festival, it won three awards: Outstanding Emerging Talent for Connor Jessup (who plays Oscar), Best Supporting Actor for Aaron Abrams (who plays Oscar’s father) and Best First Narrative Feature Film.
The official trailer, released yesterday, with Alie X’s “Bitch” song on the background, doesn’t reveal much. However,
this is not bad at all because viewers are now extremely curious to see what happens with Oscar.
The film will be released in theathers this summer, in July.
