Café Royal Euro 2016 Advert – Robbie Williams
Café Royal took advantage of the 2016 UEFA European Championship, debuted on Friday (June 10), and started an ad campaign with Robbie Williams as their face.
The famous British artist, who – “in the Service of Good Taste” – has already filmed two ads, both of them released, seems to enjoy the brand’s coffee.
If in the first spot, titled “The Bet”, Williams bets on France to win the opening match with Romania, in the second spot, titled “Coffee Oracle”, he expresses his opinion about the winner of the match between Germany and Ukraine, anticipating that the first one will beat the competition “hands down”.
He has also a piece of advice for Germany’s players in case the game doesn’t go as foreseen, namely to have a coffee at halftime, revealing that this is a “real secret weapon”. Williams ends his speech in a very optimistic note, greeting Germany with a “See you in the finals!” goodbye.
The setting and direction of this advert are unchanged with respect to “The Bet”, with subtitles translated, as well, this time in Dutch.
The singer talks to the camera, saying: “Hello, Germany. Uhm, Ukraine? Let me see”. After taking a sip of coffee, he continues: “I think you’re gonna beat them hands down. Schlaaand! If not, have a coffee at halftime. A real secret weapon. See you in the finals!”.
