Fans of historical epic action films have a new reason to be happy this summer. On August 19, from the director Timur Bekmambetov will come Ben-Hur, a re-adaptation of Lew Wallace’s 1880 novel “Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ”.
With Jack Huston, Morgan Freeman, Toby Kebbell, Nazanin Boniadi and Rodrigo Santoro in the main roles, the upcoming American production follows the story of the Jewish prince Judah Ben-Hur from Roman-occupied Jerusalem, who is in search for retaliation after being falsely accused of an assassination attempt by his adoptive brother, Messala. Sentenced to a life of slavery because of the accusation, he has a series of encounters with Jesus of Nazareth, that change him forever.
Morgan Freeman inhabits the character of Ilderim, a sheikh who trains Ben-Hur to become a charioteer to avenge his brother in a grand chariot race.
The song played in the official trailer is “Ceasefire”, performed by the Christian pop duo for KING & COUNTRY.
Lyrics
How do we save a life
Pointing fingers?
How can we end the fight
This way?
When blame is the truth we’re preaching?
And lies are what we’re believing?
No one ever wins
When the goal is to settle the score
<Chorus>
One by one we will call for a ceasefire
One by one we will fight for a better end
One by one we could rewrite the headlines
Standing side by side
One by one, love is building an empire
One by one, reaching out to our enemies
One by one we will make it to the finish line
Standing side by side
Ceasefire
I will be the first to say
I’m far from perfect
But grace was made for those who don’t
Deserve it
So easy to cast the first stone
It’s harder to search your own soul
No one ever wins
When the goal is to settle the score
<Chorus>
