American Honey (2016 Movie)
Shia LaBeouf returns to the big screen in American Honey, a new drama road movie, written and directed by Andrea Arnold, which has
received mostly positive reviews upon its premiere at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, winning the Jury Prize.
The upcoming British-American film is centered around Star, a teenage girl with nothing to lose, who runs away with a group of
law-breaking teenagers selling magazines by day and hard partying by night. Travelling with them across the country, she gets caught up in
a whirlwind of hard partying, as well, and young love, falling for Jake (played by LaBeouf), one of the group’s leaders.
With Sasha Lane in the main role, who makes her film debut, American Honey stars also Arielle Holmes, Riley Keough, McCaul Lombardi and others.
Described as “an extraordinary youthquake of a road movie”, “optimistic and just plain beautiful…a film for this generation”, American Honey will hit the US theathers this year. The official release date is not set yet.
