Horror Mastermind Rob Zombie, the visionary director of The Devil’s Rejects, House of 1000 Corpses, Haloween and The Lords of Salem, returns with a new feature film this fall, titled 31, described as “his most twisted film yet.”
Set in 1976, the movie centers around a group of carnival workers that are attacked on Halloween and sequestered in an abandoned building, where three strange people, with aristocratic wigs and powder on their faces, force them to play “31” (named after the calendar date, October 31), a game of survival. More precisely, the abducted persons, put in a maze-like set of rooms, must survive torture and murder attempts for 12 hours in order to gain their freedom.
With music by John 5 and cinematography by David Daniel, 31 stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Malcolm McDowell, Richard Brake, Meg Foster and others. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2016 and is set to be released in US theaters on September 16, 2016.
