GameStop gives you the possibility to trade your finished games for cash or in-store credit, helping you to save big on new games.
This was the idea behind the “Goat” commercial, literally full of… goats.
The 60-second ad starts with a man holding a goat in his arms, in a room filled with goats.
“That’s a mighty fine goat you got there”, says the goats owner.
“Ya, but the spark is gone”, answers the man, willing to trade his animal.
“You wanna swap for a new one?”
“What have you got?”
“I got goats. White goats, brown goats, black-and-white goats, big goats, small goats, plump goats, got alpine goats, pygmy goats, even got mamma goats with baby goats. How about this one?”, asks showing a baby goat.
The man looks at his goat and says: “No tears, Diane. This is for the best”.
The next scene shows the same guys in a GameStop store with the goats owner explaining to the other man, the client, that “this is basically how a trade works, except here we use games”.
“Alright”, say then both of them, several times.
The narrator mentions the possibility for the clients to save $25 when trading select titles.
