Houdini & Doyle is a new American-British-Canadian television series, centered on the friendship of Harry Houdini and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Set in London, at the beginning of 1900s, the magician and the writer, who are very different when it comes to believing in something, especially supernatural, get involved in the investigation of several mysterious deaths and argue often about the cause. The balance between the two is the police officer Adelaide Stratton, who believes in evidence and law.
The leading roles are played by Michael Weston, Stephen Mangan and Rebecca Liddiard.
The first season, containing 10 episodes, is broadcast on Fox in the US, on ITV in UK and Global in Canada. The first episode aired in
UK on March 13, while in Canada and US it aired on May 2. Viewers from US and Canada have not reportedly received very well the new series, as it only got a 0.7 rating in adults aged 18-49 (with 2.62 million viewers).
