ABC Series 2016: Still Star-Crossed
Where a great tragedy ends, an even greater story begins – this was the idea behind “Still Star-Crossed”, an upcoming period drama on ABC, portraying the life of the Montagues and Capulets after Romeo and Juliet’s death.
Based on the book of the same name by Melinda Taub, the new series features the palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate, centering especially on Rosaline, Juliet’s cousin and black woman in 16th century Verona, who is forced to work as a maid by her aunt and uncle, Lady and Lord Capulet.
The cast includes Lashana Lynch, Zuleikha Robinson, Anthony Head, Wade Briggs and others.
