Florence Foster Jenkins (Nascina Florence Fosterby her real name) became the subject of a British-French biographical comedy-drama, written by Nicholas Martin and directed by Stephen Frears.
The American socialite turned into an opera singer known and ridiculed for her poor singing ability and her aberrant pronunciation is played by Meryl Streep. The cast includes also Hugh Grant, Nina Arianda, Simon Helberg and Rebecca Ferguson.
Premiered at the Belfast Film Festival on April 23, the film will be released on May 6 in UK and on August 12 in US.
