The Durrells is a six-part drama series, based on Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs, that will air on ITV.
Set in 1935, the story focuses on Durrell family, that leave England and move to Greece, in Corfu. Louisa Durrell and her four children, that she raises by herself after her husband’s death, meet new friends, rivals and lovers as they adjust to their new life.
The main character is played by Keely Hawes, known for her roles in Line of Duty and Ashes to Ashes. Her children, Larry (21), Leslie (18) Margo (17) and Gerry (11) are played by Josh O’Connor, Callum Woodhouse, Daisy Waterstone and Milo Parker. As expected, there will be also Greek actors in the cast. Alexis Georgoulis, a very popular actor in Greece, will be playing a handsome man that Margo thinks would be good to marry her mother, and Yorgos Karamihos will be Theodore,
a local that welcomes the Durrells in Corfu.

Trailer Song: Royal Crown Revue – Hey Pachuco

Lyrics

Hey, Pachuco!

Summer ’43 the man’s gunnin’ for me
And blue and white mean war tonight
They say damn my pride
And all the other cats livin’ down east side
Or maybe just my plan’s too wide

Hmm, Marie
You better grab my Jack
And zip gun for me
And I’ll face no shame
‘Cause tonight’s the night I die for our name

Well I’d like to be swingin’
Dancing and singin’
Just having the time
Free to do whatever
Now more than ever
I gotta stick with that gang of mine

Hey, Pachuco!
