Burberry has released the campaign film for the Thomas Burberry Monogram collection, designed by the brand’s new chief creative officer, Riccardo Tisci.
Shot by renowned fashion photographer Nick Knight, the campaign features Gigi Hadid portraying the four distinct Burberry characters – the boy, the man, the girl, and the lady. The TB monogram print, that celebrates label founder Thomas Burberry, is cast in a neutral palette of chocolate brown, chestnut brown, beige, with red stripes laid on top of the print.
Serving as soundtrack is Primal Scream’s cover of the 1967 song “Some Velvet Morning” (originally recorded by Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra), featuring Kate Moss, from the band’s 2002 album “Evil Heat”.
For this collection, Tisci, who in August 2018 revealed a new brand logo and “TB” monogram print, commissioned a unique team of British creatives including stylist Katy England, art director Peter Seville, make-up artist Isamaya Ffrench and hair stylist Gary Gill to bring the Thomas Burberry Monogram to life.
Gigi Hadid made her Burberry runway debut earlier this year, in February, at Tisci’s Fall 2019 show, when the new monogram was also first seen.
Burberry’s new TB Monogram collection will launch online and at select Burberry stores globally, later this month, on May 22.
