The CW has released the trailer for the second season of Dynasty, set to premiere Friday, October 12.
The show revolves around the Carringtons, a wealthy family that owns a global energy empire. When the father, Blake Carrington, asks his daughter, Fallon, and his son, Steven, to come home in Atlanta, the siblings are introduced to his wife-to-be, Cristal. Fallon, though, who is poised to become the new COO of her dad’s company, does not accept the idea of having Cristal as stepmother and proves to be capable of anything to avoid the marriage between Cristal and her father.
The cast includes Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon Carrington, James Mackay as Steven Carrington, Brianna Brown as Claudia Blaisdel, Rafael de la Fuente as Sam Jones, Nathalie Kelley as Cristal Flores Carrington. The fate of Kelley’s character, though, was left up in the air in the season one finale as she was shot in the stomach by Claudia (who thought she was shooting her dead husband, naturally), leaving her trapped in a house that had just been set on fire on Steven’s wedding day. The “real” Cristal will be played by Ana Brenda Contreras in season two. Nicollette Sheridan, who’s playing Alexis Carrington, a character that was also trapped in the fire, has been promoted to a series regular for season two, as well.
The trailer for the upcoming season features Blake Carrington waking up in an empty room, near his dog, and hitting a journalist that tells him he got played by his wife. Serving as the soundtrack is the 2017 single “Thas Life (feat. Nomad & Wake)” by M$RK 4DEF, from the “King Krunk” album.
While in the US, season two will premiere on Friday, October 12, UK fans of the show will be able to watch it on Netflix, the day after the US airing, on Saturday, October 13, respectively.
