Tostitos celebrates the launch of the new football season and its status of Official Chip & Dip of the NFL with a new ad, highlighting there’s one thing all fans can agree on: Tostitos.
The 15-second spot, promoting the brand’s Chunky Salsa, Salsa con Queso and Tostitos Original and Scoops!, informs that, while “some like burgers” and “others like wings”, “everyone loves salsa”. The soundtrack music is “Heavy Action” performed by Sound Stage Orchestra.
Earlier this year, the PepsiCo owned snack brand released a series of ads, part of the “Get Together Already” campaign, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The action film actor has been promoting various Tostitos products, like the Yellow Corn Bite Size, the signature corn chip, which he calls “friendchip”, Tostitos Scoops, Tostitos Bite Size, and others. In one of the spots, rooted in the idea that, if you don’t take time to hang out with your friends, they might replace you with a new friend, he appears going from just hanging out with a group of youngsters at home to taking selfies with them, bonding over “chips (referring to tokens) and chips (referring to Tostitos chips)”, and even showing up at their wedding as both best man and bridesmaid. He gives people a “Pep Talk”, encouraging them to get together with their friends and spend quality time together.
Last year, Tostitos celebrated the official traditions of 19 NFL teams by releasing Lucky Bags, featuring team-inspired packaging. One of the Lucky Bags is honoring the historic Redskins marching bands (one of the oldest in the NFL), another one is honoring the Carolina Panthers by pounding Carolina’s drum for every bag. Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesotta Vikings, Pittsburg Steelers, New York Giants, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, and Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, and Baltimore Ravens are the other teams for which the brand launched Lucky Bags.
