Folgers celebrates coaches and its status of proud sponsor of team US at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in a new campaign, called “Here’s to Coaches” and aimed at highlighting that “Olympic glory doesn’t just belong to athletes and it doesn’t just happen every four years. It happens one morning at a time and one cup at a time”.
The 30-second spot, created by agency Grey NY and titled “Coach”, follows a coach who starts his day, each morning, with a cup of Folgers as he shows his support to one particular athlete through the years. As the spot ends, the boy, now a man, is seen entering his coach’s office donning a U.S. Olympic Team outfit and chatting over a cup of Folgers coffee.
Serving as the perfect soundtrack is “Couldn’t Ask For A Better Friend”, written and performed by Michael Logen.
Folgers has been a sponsor of Team USA since 2013, recognizing over the years the coaches dedication and showing appreciation for all those who have guided and supported athletes throughout their journey to become Olympians.
This year, the brand teamed up with two-time U.S. Olympic gold medalist alpine skier Ted Ligety, U.S. Olympic cross country skier Jessie Diggins, and U.S. Paralympic gold medalist para-snowboarder Evan Strong to honor the support they have received from their coaches.
The “Here’s to Coaches” campaign will run through the end of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
