Dollar Shave Club has released a new commercial, aiming to highlight that their Shave Butter and “amazing” razors will change “the shave part of your life”.
The 30-second spot, created by the company’s in-house creative agency, features a man in his bathroom who, after using Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter from Dollar Shave Club, is transported into space. The man, who’s wearing shorts and a bathrobe, is seen floating through his bathroom mirror into a universe of shaving-foam blobs and having his beard removed in no time by a butter knife. When he gets back to reality, a strange noise is heard behind him, but it turns out it’s just his wife, cutting her toe nails.
The commercial ends with the voiceover saying “Shave Butter by Dollar Shave Club – It’s going to change your life, well… the shave part of your life” and urging viewers to try the Shave Butter and the razor at the brand’s website.
The soundtrack music is the single “Mystery Man” by Detroit rock band The Frost, from their 1969 album, “Frost Music”. The song is priced at $1.29 and the album at $11.99.
This is the second Dollar Shave Club ad in the “Buttery” series. In December 2017, the company released a spot that featured a guy floating across buttery dunes.
