Amazon Studios has released the trailer for the upcoming bittersweet comedy Brad’s Status, from writer and director Mike White, starring Ben Stiller.
The latter plays Brad Sloan, a father who takes his college-bound son on a trip to tour colleges on the East Coast and, after meeting up with an old friend from college, has a confidence crisis. Comparing himself with other guys from college, who are now wealthy and seem to lead successful lives on all plan, he finds himself reassessing his own life choices while trying to support his son find his path.
The cast also includes Jenna Fischer as Brad’s wife, Melanie, Austin Abrams as Brad’s son, Troy, Michael Sheen, Luke Wilson, Jemaine Clement, and Jimmy Kimmel as himself.
The song used in the trailer, which reveals much of the plot, features the 1981 song “Under Pressure” written and recorded by the British rock band Queen in collaboration with David Bowie and included on the band’s tenth studio album, “Hot Space”, released in 1982.
Brad’s Status is set to be released in the US theaters this fall, on September 15.
