Ram Trucks has launched a new ad campaign, celebrating its status of Official Truck of the 143rd Kentucky Derby.
“Long live the tenacious. The courageous. The ones who push forward. Long live the greater good. The helping hand. And long live the truck built to outlast them all.” – says the voiceover in the 30-second spot “Long Live Ram”, set to the rhythms of Anderson East’s cover of Bob Dylan’s classic song “Forever Young” and featuring various Ram trucks, including the RAM 1500 and 3500.
In another spot, focusing on the Ram 3500 and aiming to highlight the importance of Ram Heavy Duty, the voiceover explains the “circle” as follows: “The jockey sits on a saddle. The saddle sits on a saddle cloth. The saddle cloth sits on a derby horse. And somehow that derby horse has to get to the Derby. Horse people need truck people. And truck people need the Ram Heavt Duty, part of America’s Longest-Lasting Pickups”.
Now, Ram Trucks honors the courage and commitment of Always Dreaming and the Todd Pletcher team in their win of the 143rd Kentucky Derby, in a 30-second spot featuring a music track by Paul McDonald.
Recently, the brand’s image has been affected by a recall that involves more than a million pickup trucks. On May 12, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles announced that Ram 1500 and 2500 trucks (model years 2013 to 2016) and Ram 3500 trucks (model years 2014 to 2016) will be recalled beginning in June to rectify a problem related to the software code controlling side airbags and safety belt pretensioners.
