Netflix has released a teaser for its upcoming original series, Ozark, starring Jason Bateman and Laura Linney, and
coming July 21.
The new TV show, created by Bill Dubuque, revolves around a seemingly ordinary family, The Byrdes, consisting of husband and wife Marty and Wendy and their teenage kids, Charlotte and Jonah, who move from a Chicago suburb to a summer resort community in the Missouri Ozarks. The truth is they are not an ordinary family because of Marty’s real job: the top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico.
Five of the ten one-hour episodes will be directed by Bateman, who serves also as an executive producer. The series stars also Sofia Hublitz, Skylar Gaertner, Julia Garner, Michael Mosley, Kevin L. Johnson and others.
The song used in the teaser launched by the streaming service, carrying the message “Welcome to the last resort”, is Kanye West’s 2016 single “Wolves” featuring Sia and Vic Mensa, from his seventh studio album, “The Life of Pablo”.
