GEICO Commercial 2017 – Dead Car Battery

GEICO Insurance has released a new commercial, promoting the Emergency Roadside Service in the GEICO mobile app.

The 30-second spot, titled “Dead Car Battery”, features a couple and their dog in the car, in an empty parking lot, at night, facing a quite common problem: their car engine fails to start because of the dead battery. Luckily, the wife (played by Sarah Waisman) is inspired to call the Emergency Roadside Service in the GEICO mobile app, solving the problem without saying a word to her husband (played by Andrew Hawtrey). Shortly after indicating the technical issue and their location, the couple is found by a service person (played by Jake Sanvig), who gets to work without saying a word either. Soon, the engine roars to life, the dog begins the howl, and dramatic opera music swells from radio.

The ad ends with the onscreen line “Some things are easier done than said”.
