ABC of Death, the unofficial commercial for Volvo Autonomous Driving, released at the end of October in Germany, has gathered thousands of positive reviews.
Done by Filmakademie Baden-W├╝rttemberg advertising agency and directed by Dorian & Daniel (Dorian Lebherz and Daniel Titz), the spot features several dumb ways to die, such as being hit by a bus, eaten by pigeons, knocked down by the dresser while dusting it, exploding after digging too deep in the courtyard, having a stroke while driving. But the man who dies while driving, being on a Volvo, does not kill Gary, who’s crossing the street, because the car can break by itself.
“V is for Volvo who knows how to cheat. Stay Alive” – this is how the spot ends.
